Mana Pools Safari Lodge is situated on the lower mighty Zambezi river floodplain in the north of Zimbabwe in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Mana Pools National Park. Nestled beneath a wild mango forest and surrounded by African acacias and mahogany trees the Lodge offers incredible landscape views. The fruit of these trees are highly sought after by both the resident larger and smaller wildlife species and they attract an abundant bird life making it a fantastic game viewing destination. The Lodge is home to twelve thatched comfortable chalets including a presidential suite, all with the necessary convenient amenities to provide an enjoyable stay. In our own efforts to reduce our carbon footprint by using renewable resources, the lodge is fully powered by solar.

The Lodge has a certified water filtration plant and reverse osmosis- no plastic water bottles allowed. The Lodge will always be stocked with cold drinking water in glass bottles. Game drive vehicles will have stainless steel 500ml water bottles.
Weather
Mana Pools is generally warm and hot. The winter season is from mid-May to mid-August, where evenings and early mornings can be chilly at around 12°C (54°F). Days are clear and warm at 28°C (82°F). August to October are the hottest, driest months, with temperatures soaring to between 40°C and 50°C (104°F - 122°F). November usually sees the first rains, which bring high humidity levels in their wake. December to February is the peak rainy season, which usually consists of afternoon thundershowers or a steady drizzle that can last for days. Average temperatures range from 21°C -31°C (70°F -88°F). March and April see rains slowing down, with evenings and early mornings becoming cooler. Average temperatures 19°C -31°C (66°F - 88°F).
Accessibility
• Charter flight to mana pools main airstrip - 25km road trip to camp on a game viewer
• Road transfer from Kariba international to camp - 180km in closed transfer vehicle.
• Boat transfer from Chirundu to camp - approx 1.30 boat drive - the fleet consists of two boats, a 16 seater aluminum riverboat for large groups and a smaller 8 seater of similar design.
• Self Drive - 400km from Harare, 4x4 vehicle required (90km dirt road). When self driving to Mana Pools please ensure you stop at Marongora office to collect your Entry Permit. The latest time is 3.30 pm. After Marongora you would need to stop at the 1st Boom gate showing them your Entry Permit. If you do not have the permit you will be sent back to Marongora.
